Jeff Glasbrenner
Paralympian, Triathlete
Jeff Glasbrenner’s opportunity in life came on July 30, 1980 at 8 years old. On this day, Jeff was involved in a traumatic farming accident, leaving him a below-the-knee amputee. After his accident, he was worried that he would never be able to run or swim again. Most would call this a tragedy. Jeff says it was his greatest opportunity because, like any situation, you can either embrace it or make the best of it or you can regret it and fail. He chose to embrace this unique opportunity and has continually excelled at wheelchair basketball, triathlons, being a husband and a dedicated father to his 6-year old daughter Grace and 4-year old son Gavin.
Jeff’s opportunity has allowed him to travel to 37 different countries and meet amazing people. With hard work, belief in himself and continued support, Jeff has taken this opportunity and risen to a world class level in sports.
In wheelchair basketball, Jeff holds a National Championship scoring record of 63 points and 27 rebounds in one game. He played in Europe professionally for three years (Madrid, Spain and Rome, Italy). He is a two-time paralympian and a two-time world champion (gold medal).
In triathlons, Jeff has finished 18 full Ironman races. In 2010, he completed 8 ironman races in 8 months to celebrate his 30th anniversary of losing his leg at the age of 8!
Jeff has proven that his motto in life is works…work hard and everything else will follow. His motivational public speaking and his positive attitude continue to inspire people all over the world.
Jeff’s audiences have included numerous engagements for The Hartford, Tyson Foods, Dollar General, National Key Club, churches, and others.
